Logaga lwa Ditiragalo is a cultural exchange program in Botswana ,aimed at sharing cultural practices and ideas among people from diverse cultural backgrounds. The program is looking for 20 participants, 10 males and 10 females, who are Batswana citizens aged over 18 to 55 years. Two spots will be reserved for people living with disabilities to promote their rights, inclusiveness, and active involvement in decision-making processes. The nomination process will begin in March 2024 and end in August 2024. Interested individuals will need to enter by sending an sms, the more one sends the better his or he chances of making the cut, they will then be screened to identify eligible candidates for the program. The voting process involves sending a unique code or keyword via SMS to a designated number, and the three contestants with the highest number of votes are announced as the chosen ones for each month. The Logaga la Ditiragalo program supports Botswana's vision 2036 pillar 2 of human social development, which aims to create a moral, tolerant, and inclusive society that provides opportunities for all.
The proposed cultural exchange TV program, Logaga lwa Ditiragalo, will identify two suitable host ethnic cultures in Botswana and arrange logistics to ensure a smooth and successful production. The program will split the twenty contestants into two groups of ten members per group, with an equal number of males and females per group. Each group will spend 20 days at a host culture place, immersing themselves in the host culture and learning about their customs, traditions, and way of life. The two groups will alternate between the two selected cultural hosts after 20 days. The program aims to promote cultural understanding and exchange through daily activities, including learning about the host culture's customs, traditions, and history, trying new foods, taking part in games and recreational challenges, building relationships with members of the host community, and following the program rules. At the end of the 40 days, the group with the most votes will win a prize money of BWP 1,000,000, and the best overall performer will win a prize money of BWP 100,000. The program will create various employment opportunities for Batswana, including cast and crew, contestants, security, food caterers, on-site medical personnel, drivers, social media account managers, accountants, event planners, and coordinators. The program will be broadcasted for a duration of 40 days on local television stations, various social media websites, and possibly global television networks with English subtitles for a far-reaching global audience.
